How to deal with the wrong characters or data in the LCD module?

When the LCD module is running, wrong characters or random dots (data error) are generated on the LCD screen, and it cannot be recovered. This is because electromagnetic interference is applied to the control signal, causing the register parameters to be modified. The general operation is to write display data, rather than repeatedly write the main working register parameters, so the above phenomenon will appear.

Solution: If interference is applied to the transmission line between the product MPU and the display screen, the following methods can be used: (1) use a magnetic ring or tin foil as a shield for the line; (2) change the direction of the transmission line to avoid the interference environment; ( 3) Shorten the length of the transmission line; or add a transmission line driver to improve the driving ability and anti-interference ability. Through testing, observe the display effect to determine whether it is improved.


How to deal with the electrostatic interference of LCD module?

Due to the electrostatic interference of the liquid crystal module casing, especially the liquid crystal panel, the liquid crystal screen will appear blank or disordered. Most of this interference is through the iron frame or glass panel of the liquid crystal module to interfere with the circuit of the liquid crystal module. Solution: (1) The iron frame of the LCD module should be properly grounded. (2) The iron frame of the LCD module is connected to VSS, or the iron frame of the LCD module is floating. (3) Add an insulating pad between the iron frame and the metal case of the liquid crystal module. The thicker the insulating pad, the greater the reduction of static electricity. These three methods can be selected during testing to observe the improvement shown.


What should we do if the LCD module fails?

There is no external interference source, and the LCD module also has a white screen or random display phenomenon.

This kind of situation also belongs to interference, which is the interference inside the system, mainly caused by the program conflict of the software. First find out the law of interference. If it occurs during the writing process of the module, it is easy to cause the module to crash, error display, etc., and the factor of interrupting the program must be considered. The interrupt program will be generated during the process of MPU writing to the LCD screen, and erroneous operations such as control signal modification and data modification may occur, resulting in a crash or display error of the display module. The way to improve is to disable the interrupt response function during the process of the MPU calling the LCD driver.
